Abdominal pain when I wake up

Post by purplesarah »

Is anyone else experiencing this?

For the last year or so, every time I wake up I have pain in my abdomen. It doesn't seem to be in a specific location, but tends to move about it waves all around my lower abdomen and up my back. It's always worse the longer I've slept and I think it might be to do with needing to pee. I rarely get a good sleep (usually 5-6 hours, always wake up needing to pee and can't get back to sleep) so most days the pain is there but not too bad. Last night though I got 9 hours sleep and woke up in excruciating pain which is still present although it has lessened with painkillers.

It's not the same as sharp kidney pains (I sometimes get those when I need to pee or try to pee and can't).

I've mentioned this to my GP and my nephrologist twice but they both seem to brush over it like it's nothing. Next time I'm really going to emphasise it, since it's getting worse with time and I'm already ill as it is!

Oh and in case this is important, my kidney function is 12%, I'm not on dialysis.
