Hi all
I'm 49yo male, originally from Scotland but temporarily living in the US with work, I return home at Xmas.
My step-brother was been diagnosed with kidney disease last year and I have gone through the registration, testing and approval process to be a donor for him; this is scheduled to take place in Jan / Feb 22. Not wishing to say too much but my brother's condition is very stable and he doesn't require dialysis.
My reason for joining this forum is to ascertain the 'nuts and bolts' of life as a kidney donor; what changes do you need to make (if any) to your lifestyle; what can you eat, drink, any impact upon hobbies, general lifestyle, side effects - anything that people think might be relevant to know about as a prospective donor.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.
