Advice please: support available at CKD stage 3A?

Hi Everyone
I have just joined the forum. I was recently diagnosed with Stage 3A CKD and I'm a bit baffled! The GP was very dismissive of it eg "Everyone's kidney function gets poor when you age" (I'm 55). I was told not to worry as my blood pressure is fine. So I came out feeling that I had been told something quite serious but also not to really worry about it as it was nothing. I went with the idea it was nothing (as I guess it's less scary) but I am getting regular discomfort on my left side and can't sit comfortably, I also feel constantly exhausted (which is why I had the blood test to begin with) and I find it really hard to focus on anything. I'm also quite low in mood - but largely because I'm so lacking in energy. I've just joined this forum as I was looking for advice as I'm sitting at work barely able to keep my eyes open and not achieving anything...
Sorry to whinge but I feel I need to find out more about what I have and what to do and it seems clear that the GP isn't too interested. Is it possible to get a referral for any kind of specialist and if so how do you go about it? I live in London if that makes a difference to what's available. And how do you know if your symptoms are related to CKD or something else? Guess the answer to that is you don't?!?
Any advice would be really appreciated. I'm sorry if what I'm saying is answered in other threads. I have just joined.
Thanks so much for reading this.
