IgA Nephropathy/kidney problems and marijuana

Post by mapleleafs »

Has anyone spoken to their nephrologist in regards to smoking marijuana and the effects it has on kidneys? Specifically people who may have kidney issues?

I did once but it was masked by a "don't smoke, you fool" conversation, because cancer, obvs. I'd be intrigued if the conversation could be had about vaping with a THC/CBD based substance instead!

I've tried to do research online with regards to the affects of smoking marijuana on kidneys for people who have some sort of kidney problem, whether its mild such as what I am going through or more severe such as ESRF. I can't find any scholarly journals saying that its definitely bad for you or whether you can have a little here and there.

Perhaps I am odd but I cannot understand why someone would deliberately get involved with doubtful material?

Of course, you shouldn't smoke at all. What kind of drugs are we talking about? There’s a very fine line to walk here.
Even if it's marijuana, you have to distinguish between smoking marijuana and cannabis with oil extracts.
Goes without saying that the second option has incomparably more health benefits.
The oil has very useful properties, both for calming the nervous system and presenting various illnesses.
Hemp oil has no direct contraindications.

I have urolithiasis. I talked to a nephrologist and a urologist about what medications I could take. The doctors said that many herbal capsules were already included in my preparations. In addition, I was prescribed herbal medicine as a preventive measure during remission. I also found cannabis in the composition of herbal preparations. It's probably OK to use cannabis for medical purposes. It is unlikely that a professional neurologist can prescribe you the wrong drugs that can harm your kidneys. Don't worry.

CBD is a rather promising substance in medicine since it has antiemetic, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory, anticarcinogenic, antioxidant, antiepileptic, and also, its properties may be applied in the treatment of either light drugs ( like marijuana or tobacco) or hard drugs dependency ( heroin, cocaine, meph, etc. ).
