Re: Conversion from Tacrolimus to MMF

Thanks Rik I have of course discussed this extensively with my consultant but I posted to get some real world experience. I wanted to see who else had done this and how it had worked out.I also wanted to see if some people had not done this but had continued with good function anyway by staying on T...

Re: Conversion from Tacrolimus to MMF

Thanks for the replies. Rik - as I read your post you are not being taken off tacrolimus, rather you are staying on it and MMF is being used instead of pred? Apologies but I probably didn't make clear in my case my Tacrolimus is being replaced by MMF and I'm staying on pred 5 mg per day so that seem...

Re: Conversion from Tacrolimus to MMF

Was expecting some answers but presumably no one who has read the post has had this experience.

Thing is I need to make a decision on this fairly quickly so maybe I should rephrase the question and ask if anyone is aware of this change from tacrolimus to MMF?

Thanks in advance.

Conversion from Tacrolimus to MMF

Hello All I am 13 years post transplant (live donation from my dear wife) and my results have been very stable up until recently when my creatinine has begun to creep up from 130 to 170. My consultant has recommended that I need to transition from tacrolimus (I am currently on a fairly low dose - 1m...

Caution about CT Scans

Don't know if this has been posted before but I thought it worth mentioning. I am a transplant patient and recently had a CT scan of my coronary arteries. My renal consultant was concerned that the consultant doing the scan hadn't checked first about my kidney function because the contrast fluid use...

Tacrolimus - once or twice a day

HAS anyone on here been switched from twice daily dose of Tacrolimus (Prograf)to the once daily prolonged release dose (Advagraf). In fact given that my own unit has never mentioned it I wondered if many people had heard of it. I've read a few articles recently suggesting that, at least in stable kid...

Re: Surgery after transplant

Thanks for the further replies. Interesting point about the fluids etc. I was going to have the op done privately so hopefully the date would not be changed and that would not come into play. One of the things I was specifically thinking about was the risks from being on prednisolone. I know that wh...

Surgery after transplant

Hi all

Had my transplant 4 years ago and everything going fine. Got a problem with my big toe - old football injury! - which ideally requires surgery.

I'm on prednisolone (7.5mg daily) plus Prograf.

Wondered if anyone had had any surgery since their transplant?

Thanks

Funnily enough I was thinking along the same lines. I had my transplant in July 2006 and this winter has been by far the worst for catching stuff. Even though I had 1 seasonal flu jab and 2 swine flu jabs I still caught flu - GP said it must have been a third kind! Maybe its the cold weather. Having...
