Re: Tacrolimus side effects returned

Although I'm only four weeks in to the transplant journey, most of s in Clinic have these side effects which the team tell us will disappear as our dose reduces....
Good luck to you.

Re: London bridges walk 2015

I'm signed up to do it with my husband and my school is fundraising with a non-uniform day. I just hope I'm up to it given my recent transplant.

Gosh Mandy. So sorry to hear all of this but how amazing you've come through the other side. I hope you're feeling good now and that function keeps increasing.

Re: An Update from Jooles

Hi Mandy Thanks for your good wishes. It's early days and I'm finding the clinic visits nerve-wracking. Creatinine only came down by a couple of points yesterday and there's protein in my urine. The question is whether that is from my own kidneys or whether the FSGS is transferring to new kidney.. B...

Re: Grey Transplant

Hi Grey So pleased to read this post from you! I had a transplant last week and in the bed opposite me was an altruistic donor - a remarkable woman who literally walked in off the street and offered her kidney to someone. there was also someone who had gone through paired exchange too. It was the se...

Re: I hate Dialysis

Can't add anything of substance to the already amazing replies. Only empathy. Stick with it. It does get better with time - but there are always those really shite nights. This site is full of amazingly supportive people who actually feel the same.
Good luck mate!

Re: Dialysis

Hi ken Welcome to the group. Sorry to hear you are feeling rubbish. It's often the way just before dialysis starts and in my experience, it's the thought. Of it which is worse. I started nearly a year ago at which point my egfr was 6%. But once I started, after a period of adjustment, I was back tea...

Re: An Update from Jooles

Do it Sue! It's so liberating to get away and 'hook up' somewhere else! If I'm only away for one night I tend to take manuals and the bag warmer and just do a bag early evening and again in the morning. For the time being that does me. If it's longer than one night then I don't skip and take the mac...

An Update from Jooles

Well, it's been a long time since I have posted (although I try to read posts regularly). I'm nearly approaching the one year mark of PD - results seem fairly stable so I guess it's doing its job. No developments on the transplant front. I haven't heard from the Living Donor Coordinator at all since...

Re: Anyone on home APD can advise

Hi Ikea do a good range of what they term as Kitchen trolleys - have hooks on side to out bags and shelves to put a container to house drain bags, Even a drawer for clamps / shields and a wipe clean top try to connect. Many people use existing bedside tables etc. Baxters have been great. I order onl...
