Re: An Update from Jooles

Hey Sporti, that's awful. What week are you now? I'm week 14 - Prednisolone reduced now to 10mg but still on 10mg of Tacro (Advograf) and 500mg x twice daily of MMF (Cellcept). Did you have symptoms of diabetes? I hope it all reverts, as Grey says. I need tips from Tibbs about weight-loss! (never th...

Re: An Update from Jooles

Hi Grey How is it all going post TX with you? I didn't have a stent or staples so can't comment although the men at clinic say it's generally fine. Tube removal was under general and was fine - recovery much like have by it put in although it was only two days, rather than two weeks without showers!...

Re: An Update from Jooles

Ooooh! I hope you're right Tibbs! It's getting worse for me! Eating so much - put on 7 kg and they can't reduce my steroids yet cause of tinkering with the mycophenolate. Clothes with waistbands are a no-go! Face is massive too! Stills, small price to pay really! Glad all is well in your world!

Re: Grey 3 weeks since transplant.....

Hi Grey! I've been waiting for this post! Hooray! Well done! It's a new journey. Lots to get accustomed to. Readjustment etc. The cannulas were my main phobia too! I'm due to be discharged from Transplant Clnic back to consultant appointments on Thurs as I reach my 12 week mark. It's been a rocky jo...

Re: An Update from Jooles

Hi Tibbs. What a roller-coaster it all is post Transplant! Meds are my problem. White blood cont so low that they've cut out mycophenolate completely. Steroids making me look like Michelin-man and restless sleep. Can't stop eating. Having been 5foot 9 and a size 6 for most of my life this is a sheer...

Re: Post transplant shape

Hi! An interesting question here. On my mind too! I'm 10 weeks post transplant and after initial bruising went down, felt fine size-wise.b in the last couple of weeks, I have bloated quite considerably in the face and my tummy has a distinct pregnant look such that I keep asking about whether I have...

Re: An Update from Jooles

Tibbs
it was Doxazosin. they replaced it with Bisoprolol and have told me to mention Doxazosin if asked whether I have allergies. I have since heard iother patients in clinic say they have had adverse reactions too.

Re: An Update from Jooles

Thanks Dixie! I keep saying those words to myself - still can't quite believe it. It's been a little rocky and last week I was re-admitted for a couple of days as my progress nose-dived and I became extremely breathless with heart palpitations. After lots of tests (lungs, heart, CMV), we now think i...
