Re: Vaccines for Covid 19

Got a text from Guys inviting me for a third dose on Friday, just been and had it this afternoon. They'll ask you on arrival at a vaccine centre if it's a third dose or a booster. I gather that It's very important if you're an immunosuppressed transplant patient or someone who has been invited for a...

Re: Vaccines for Covid 19

I haven't. Contacted GSTT a couple of weeks ago and was told it's still in planning!

I'm going to wander into the Vaccine Hub next week with a copy of the JCVI guidance and just ask for one, see what happens....

Wow - really glad you got that sorted - worth going back and letting the original dismissive nurse know? What a pain!

Re: Donor tips

Hi FreyasDad I've split this out to another topic as I'm sure some folks will want to respond :) My donor has been able to carry on life as normal since she donated to me 13 years ago, once the initial healing period was complete! No changes to diet or whatever, although she was already vegan and pr...

Thanks Dirverd, good to hear from you!

I'm hoping the OCTAVE study will give us some information. I'm fully expecting to need a booster shot later in the year.

Re: Post renal transplant a week or two after symptoms

Welcome to the rollercoaster! Recovery from your transplant is not linear, there are ups and downs and scares and reassurances and all kinds of fun but the more time passes the easier it gets and the better we eventually feel. Wishing you all the best!

Re: Vaccines for Covid 19

I had Pfizer, and I also chose to take the calculated risk of cutting back my immunosuppressants by half the week after I had the jab (basically cutting out my evening doses) to give my immune system a fighting chance. Re: Vaccines for Covid 19

So - had my second dose of vaccine brought forward, had it on Thursday. Properly knocked me back for about 3 days.

Good news is I did a private antibody test the day before my second dose and it looks like i've had a reasonably strong reaction to the first dose of vaccine which is great!
