Re: Thanks
Yes, I've been using this site and many other PHPBB's since 2007 and nearly all of them have now fallen by the wayside because of things like FB. I'm glad we still exist though! <3

Re: Coronavirus
Thankfully my work can all be done remotely, so I doubt I'll be back to work in an office before 2021, which is a very odd thought.

Re: Hemodialysis - overheating/outofbreath/sickness
Thanks JMan - Dyi is a friend of mine so i've passed this on to him. He's a bit lost with things at the moment so I hope he finds your advice valuable.

Re: Coronavirus
I have actually been going out since the lockdown started, a couple of times a week very early and/or somewhere where there is very high probability there won't be any or very few others. I always take gloves, sanitiser etc. So far it has worked out but frankly it was easier during the lockdown bec...

Re: Coronavirus
I went to the beach yesterday. Herne Bay - almost completely deserted. Drove with one member of my family who I've been shielding with and met one person there. We had ice cream - I used a glove to hold the tub and used a spoon I'd brought with me to eat it, then anti-bac'd afterwards. The public to...

Re: Coronavirus
Zone 2 Central London here *wave* it's tough, I must say. This confusing and sudden change is also going to make it even harder.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52862440 - shielding folks in England and Wales are now allowed out once a day to see a friend, apparently. I was extremely angry when...

Re: Coronavirus
I'm relying on them coming up with effective treatments, tbh. A vaccine may not be possible for a long time, if ever, but treatments hopefully should be!

Re: Coronavirus
I have a feeling they're just going to end the shielding on 30 June and leave us to manage our own risk. Seems about right for this government.

Re: Low eGFR before i'm 30 years old
Apologies, you're absolutely right, I did misread the numbers! 70 is still very much in the space of being able to lead an entirely normal life, though. I hope it stops being such a worry for you - if you notice any symptoms of illness you sound like someone who will make sure to get it checked out,...

Re: Low eGFR before i'm 30 years old
Hello and welcome :) I suppose my first question would be why did you get the kidney function test done in the first place? There's usually little reason to have one, unless you are unwell in some way. Following that, I would say there is almost nothing you can extrapolate from a single test. 87 is ...

Re: Coronavirus
I got a second NHS letter and a text but both still say shield til 30 June. Are you sure about that extension? Can't find any confirmation about that anywhere.
Great news about your friend, Chris.

Re: Coronavirus
I never got the first one and only got one from my GP after calling them to ask why I hadn't had one... though curiously I seem to be on the Free Food Parcel list and get one every week which I then send to a food bank because I don't need it!
So very disorganised.

Re: Coronavirus
I was meant to go in for regular bloods today - got a garbled voicemail last night telling me not to come! Rearranged for September - 7 months between check ups I'm a bit uncomfortable about it but not as uncomfortable as I am with going into the hospital right now, I guess x

Re: Hemodialysis - overheating/outofbreath/sickness
I had wondered whether some of it might be a reaction to the dialyser materials, Dyi
Anyone else got any ideas to suggest to Dyi? I haven't experienced dialysis so have nothing to offer
